A Jazz Club
Soft intonations
Filled the bar soaked room
Seeking affirmations
Not a moment too soon
Calling out loving sounds
That did not sound like love
Lifting spirits
Guided from above
Gentle whispers
Over well tended drinks
Voices differ
About what people think
Jazz like sounds
Seeking to explore
Mind wide open
Stepping through the door
It was only a moment
Then it was gone
The words carried
Weight from then on
Momentum building
From that one piece
It was something
No one could ever believe
