Letting Go

We have to learn to let go

It happens everyday

We let go of the small things

The unimportant things

Things we barely notice we let go of

Yet our life is about letting go

Moving on,

Moving forward

And away from many things everyday

The last time we talk to someone

Away from love and loved ones

Away from our thoughts and feelings

Away from what we believe

Away from negativity

And hurt

And turn it into something new and meaningful to us

We learn to change,

To grow,

To become more of who we are going to be

We change dreams

Let go of expectations, 

And move away from the idea of immortality

We learn that we are really on our own

As we move slowly

Inexorably

Fatally

Towards our demise

Alone
