For Only You

Timeless is the night

There are many songs to be sung

So many details to be wrung

So much in life to be done

I’m glad at times like this 

I see you standing there

In light of the moon

In the call of a lonely loon

In traffic midday noon

My heart longs for

Warmth as it seeks

Comfort in your arms

You may never know

How much you mean to me

My words can’t help you see

The depth of what I feel for you

Words you do utter

Sets my heart all a flutter

Reacting to you like no other

Moments captured

As candid photos

Living in my soul

I try to understand

Why I feel the way I do

You’ve captured something 

On a level that

Takes my breath away

There is so much love inside

Being held for only you
