Far Away From Here
I stood out on the street
I took in all the sights
The buildings were so tall
In the fading light
There was no real warmth
There was a decision not to stay
I’d rather be somewhere
Far away from here
I looked up to the clouds
I watched a jet in flight
There was a trail of smoke
As it flew out of sight
I’d follow that plane
Anywhere, anyway
I need to be somewhere
Far away from here
The road is long
And travel is far
It’s a place
To follow my heart
Turn it up
Turn it on
Turn it into something
That makes sense
Make it into something
I can be
Make it into something
I can see
Do you want to go there with me?
I moved on down the road
Following ancient trails
Searching for a path
Before the sun does pale
Looking for that moment
When life shifts into gear
I need to be somewhere
Far away from here
