Here I am

How about you

Are you ready

To get in the groove

Dancing together

Sure feels right

Hold our bodies

Oh so tight

Take the steps

Feel the heat

Of love in flight

Warm am I

Warm are you

Going to try

To do something new

Spin you around

Give a kiss

There is nothing

Better than this

Walks along

The sandy shore

Midnight swims

So much more

Happiness

Has entered my life

There is you

There is me

The signs say

We are meant to be

Some of them are true

Many thoughts to glean

Can I see right through

Interest is there

Take a walk along that gently sloped hill

Summon the courage to develop your skill

Fashion and fancy lead to a dark night

Sometimes two wrongs end up being right

First you shiver

Then you shake

An attack of nerves

You hesitate

Find the source

Blow it away

Time has come

To learn today

Words won’t make it go away

A downward trend is inevitable

Says a man dependent on a pill

Decent and moral and full of decay

Deciding life has to have its say

To Love Someone

There is love left in here

I may be old but I’m not dead

There is nothing better

Than feeling warmth of someone’s caring

There is love left in here

I will find it again out there

Our mutual needs will be met

There are things that I can share

There is love

And there is need

There are emotions

Left to feed

Thoughts and ideas

To be shared

Felt deeply

To be be aware

To love someone

There is love left in here

No need to hurry times not at play

Spending time sharing the warmth

Feelings good chase away the blues

Once it was urgent

Felt the need to rush

Had to have

Filled with lust

Be aware

Of what others shared

But now

It’s about us

About feeding the need

About being involved

About the need to see

Contentment

As we age

Contentment

At a different stage

To love someone

The expectation was clear

You will do what your dad did

You will work in a factory

You will marry young

And raise a family

You will follow

Your families structure

In thinking

Your thoughts will not

Stray to areas

Ot thought about

Caught

How to honour that

But still be true to me

How to develop

A thinking mind

Without all the trouble

Having one possessed

Caught

In an eternal cycle

Of the dutiful son

Versus

A direction

Not established

Caught

In a crossfire

Of destabilizing statements

Caught

An interest in learning

Thoughts and growth

But trying to maintain

A harmonious environment

Caught

In a world where dreams were crushed

Or a price was paid

The only mistake

Was not moving far enough away

The spark never caught

The flame all but died

What’s going on inside her head

I never could decide

Bitten once

Bitten twice

You’d think

I would learn

The internal struggle was real

I was never quite in tune

With how I really did feel

A Heart Gone Astray

Cobwebs flung

With gentle despair

Words forming on her lips

Dinner is sung

With tender flair

On each of her trips

Her pace was set

Many years ago

The tide never turned

No need to fret

It passes you know

Lessons may be learned

There was the scent

Of the woods

It’s easy to discern

Her love was meant

As if it could

Return with more concern

A heart is heard

A heart is felt

A heart falls away

Her heart is her word

To thaw or melt

A heart gone astray
