Wordsmith

 Wordsmith

I am a wordsmith

I seek out meanings

I look for definitions

I listen for ideas

I hear sounds

I feel images

I explore and discuss and imagine

And record them because of their interest.

I am profound

And yet insecure

I read people

And I endure

I seek answers

And pose questions

People think I am strange

And I might well be

I look at life

To discover more about me

Searching for answers

That might never be

Plumbing the depths

Of a philosophical mind

Uncertain, yet deeply certain

In ways not defined

I am a wordsmith

I am so much more

I am defined

I adore

I chase down answers

I write to understand

A much larger world

And all of its demands

All Things Old (Show Up New Again)

All Things Old  (Show Up New Again)

Rain must fall

Sky must clear

Winds invite change

It’s always near

All things old

Show up new again

Build a fire

light the way

Watch the waves wash

Your thoughts away

All things old show up new again

There’s a train leaving at gate # 12

There’s a feeling that you just cannot shelve

For all the fussing and fighting that you do

Things from your past remain within you

All things old show up new again

I looked up

Our eyes met

Well preserved

You’re heaven sent

All things old show up new again

All things old

Show up new

Again

I Wait

I Wait

I wait

For your embrace

I wait

To fill an empty space

I wait

For a notice to begin

I wait

For hearts to lean in

A subtle look

Right on cue

My hands tremble

As your vision

Becomes my life

Feel the heat

Feel the passion

Flowing from me to you

I wait

In full moonlight

I wait

Ease into the night

I wait

Passion fills the air

I wait

Gentle words that care

I wait

Dancing is your news

I wait

Talking past the blues

I wait

Til your song is sung

I wait

Words trip off your tongue

Waves Dance

Waves Dance

Waves dance

Skimming the lake

In delicate balance

Swirling and lifting

Reflecting the possibilities

Rising to the occasion

Again and again

With their peers

In a dance

Of ultimate joy

Before rejoining

The masses

To be one

Invite Him

Invite Him

Red ran the river

A call to his dreams

Certain luck would befall

He was bursting at the seems

It only takes a moment

It only takes a day

He grasped shakily

His curtain call holding sway

Reach him

Invite him into your space

Touch him

Take him anywhere on your way

Hold him

Keep him warm keep him safe

Believe him

Let him be part of the human race

Can’t be another

Walk down memory lane

Can’t be another day

No easy way to explain

The river runs through out it

Running havoc with his soul

Pushing on forward

Until he has to let go

The Wind Whispers

The Wind Whispers

The wind whispers in the leaves

Calling out her name

Before I turn

Before I see

I know I cannot explain

Why my mind wanders

Enraptured all the same

Captured in misty moments

Where things have

never changed

The wind whispers in the night

calling out her name

Gently urging

Gently pushing

Its salient refrain

Expecting new life

Where little does remain

Not There

Not There

Words capture pictures

Sexy summer yawns

What’s the need for victors

Egoism as it dawns

Mountain lions in the desert

Heroes fill our hearts

Sit back and relax

Let others do their part

There are roads

There are paths

There are simple statements

There are needs

There are desires

There are wonders what fate meant

No need to lead

No need to be aware

A line given for feed

It’s as if you’re not really there

No One Is Lost

No One Is Lost

Two were doing the tango

The river flowed by imbued

Saltines covered in mango

Words are misconstrued

The songs carry their feeling

Dreams are held oh so tight

Dogs howling the light of the moon

In love is a secret delight

Her lips were drenched in liquor

He saw in their eyes he was doomed

Backroom deals without reason

Elevated in broken rooms

One rose was left in the end

A hill no one dared climb

Sacrifice in the face of tension

A world no one designed

Possessions in the eyes of the law

Exorcism comes with a cost

Heart beats a steady rhythm

In a sense no one is lost

Oh to dream forever

Oh to do what is right

In a world where one must

Close the window shut out the light

Time To Renew

Time To Renew

I saw you standing there in the moonlight

Strong and warm and full of insights

I knew in my heart that I should try

You were something I could not deny

That was then and this is now

You were more than I should allow

Bruised and battered my heart carries on

Stronger with its own lifesong

I was shattered

I was torn

I was broken

And reborn

Created new

From the wreckage

That was two

Moving past love

Time to renew

We opened our hearts and showed we care

Lost the thought to be aware

The loss was bitter in the end

There was no way to pretend
