Love Is Blind

She was a dream

I was out of my mind

Pursuing her love

That was hard to find

There was no reason

There was no rhyme

When you go in

Love is blind

She was a dream

There was no path

To creating love

That would ever last

Another place

Another time

When you go in

Love is blind

There are things you see

Illusions about

What love should be

One sided pursuit

Of possibilities

Can you build love?

Well we shall see

She was a dream

She rocked my brain

Thinking about love

Was so insane

Another place

Another time

Running on down the line

Running far

Running from the bind

Love was on your mind

Love was running blind

Love was chasing time

There are ways

There are means

Love will take you places

You’ve never been

Got to stop

Going place to place

Got to stop

What you got

What’s it going to be now

Fire and Ice

Cold blood runs through your veins

Darkness hidden by your eyes

You wander through the city streets

Destined to remain alive

Insights carve out your path

Intellect pushes your soul

Dramatic are the moments

As you seek out a new role

Fire and ice

You are playing with fire and ice

Footsteps tread heavily

Under blood red summer skies

Your fatigue has just settled in

In ways you cannot disguise

Plots set a new motion

The gavel swift and assured

Your honour has been upheld

Your out growth has been preserved

Splayed out keen

Not really saying

What it does mean

Losses

Blackened walls in broad daylight

Capturing sounds of long ago

Fields shielded from our sight

Roles in which we will never know

Names etched for all time

Families losses they do show

Shadows of a former mind

In silence the cancer grows

Freedom gained is freedom lost

The path of war is never true

One does pay such a cost

In those that we never knew

Schemers scheme and money is made

They sacrifice so little

To maintain their life

In a world soldiers rarely know

Conformity

The easy way

Out

Stand alone

While others flee

Say sad words

Lack humility

Conformity may be logical

To some minds

But further definition

Will be fine

Is it just going with the flow

Or demonstrating what’s in the know

Is it sacrificing

Who you are

Or will you shine

Your own star

The Plan

I am told there is a plan

That one has never seen

You must have faith I'm told

I know where that one has been

All the trust in the world

Ends up in one guys hands

Then we all have to pay

That is all he plans

Money comes and money goes

That’s all we ever see

Build us some larger buildings

Give power to the rich to be

And when all is said and done

The plan has fallen through

The faithful never move on

The plan has to be seen through

Love is blissful

Love is what is needed

Love is respect

Love is being in-sync

Love is a commitment

Love is a vulnerability

Love is equality

Love is patience

Love is growing together

Love is opportunities for growth,

Love is an overused word

Love is more than words

Love is beyond words

Beyond thoughts

Beyond meanings

Love is a place

Where the next level

Doesn’t exist

Love just is
