What Am I Getting Out Of This?

What Am I Getting Out Of This?

What am I getting out of this

Came a thought spreading from nowhere

How is it helping me grow

How can it lead me to be somewhere I need to be

How am I being enriched by this experience

What I am suppose to learn

I look hard and long

But still there is nothing that I see

My road stretches out far ahead

This is not the place I need to be

When I am getting nothing

It is time to move on to greener pastures

Where personal growth becomes a priority

Where there is more to achieve in life.

Where inertia isn’t a rampant disease

The path not taken is immaterial

If you are on the road to nowhere

Sweep Them Away

Sweep Them Away

A voice cries out in the night

Wanting solace from the cold

Whispering softly as in flight

The darkness grows rather old

I feel a tug at my sleeve

Seeking escape from the dark

Bending trees shed falling leaves

Winter is about to start

She lies stately on my bed

Arms wrapped around in comfort

Her mind miles away instead

Avoiding a nightly sport

The lies we tell in our hearts

Mysteries surround our day

Nightmares amid broken parts

The truth would sweep them away

What If

What If

What if

I drew you

And then

You drew me

What if

We did talk

Because

Talk is free

There are dreams in our lives

Our eyes light up

As we search

And we search

For signs

They hold the key

Of what we could be

What if

We did learn

About

What we see

What if

Time stood still

Inspired

Just to be

Greener Pastures

Greener Pastures

Stones out on the road

Thoughts ready to explode

Looking for greener pastures

Words on a blank page

Mind ready to engage

Looking for greener pastures

Greener pastures

Desiring greener pastures

Looking for greener pastures

Imagine what we find

Fingers wine and dine

Looking for greener pastures

As words wash ashore

Concepts are explored

Looking for greener pastures

They heed our beckoning call

Words on the page

Capture so subtly our thoughts

Building tension

Giving all its got

As we approach greener pastures

Looking for greener pastures

Greener pastures

The Power Of Our Choice

The Power Of Our Choice

Scoured through the weeds

Through the towering reeds

Showering our thoughts with aphorisms

Building strongly worded wisdoms

The point was never to choose

But the power to make the choice

Was our option for growth

Was the strength of our voice

The power of our choice

Rejoice in the streets

Hoist banner entreats

Employ the choice to seek our visions

Poise and grace in our decisions

The point was never to choose

But the power to make the choice

Was our option for growth

Was the strength of our voice

The power of our choice

All Over You

All Over You

Once we were deep

As deep as we could be

I only thought of you

And you only thought of me

We were more than good

Better than all of our friends

We were solid

Never had to pretend

Now I’m all over you

It’s sad that this has to end

I have so moved on

On that you can depend

Once it was you

But now thats a dead end

I’m all over you

This is the end

We took our time

Built a friendship of trust

Believed in each other

Made a plan that was a must

Strong in its wisdom

Strong in the signs of our love

Built it to last

Now it wasn’t enough

Now I’m all over you

It’s sad that this has to end

I am so moving on

On that you can depend

Once it was you

But now thats a dead end

I’m all over you

This is the end

Weakness of the heart

Weakness of the mind

Searching for something

That one can never attain

My Home

My Home

It’s hard to believe in fairy tales

When that is not what I see

The way that things are moving here

It's not how things should be

I’m not looking for a paradise

I’m not sure what is sought

I’m not one to be filled with awe

I’m not one to be bought

That’s not my life

That’s not where I am going

Got to be

What I believe

What I feel

When I see it

I know where my home is to be

Got tired of others direction

There were no seeds to be sown

Needed inspiration in order to grow

I have to seek what is unknown

That's my life path

To be in search of real me

Got to be

What I believe

What I feel

When I see it

I know where my home will be

When The Wind Whispers

When The Wind Whispers

When I see you smile

Thoughts are twinned

Ideas they do blend

Words are whispered in the wind

When I see you smile

Eyes track and do attend

Flowing thoughts on the mend

Words are whispered and extend

Late at night

Music touches our soul

When the wind whispers

It whispers soft and low

Thoughts gather and they flow

We watch loving thoughts grow

When the wind whispers

 When I see you smile

Raising concepts

Placing them in the fore

Engaging whispers in the wind

A Day At The Beach 2

A Day At The Beach 2

Wind pushed waves

Break on the shore

Amusing onlookers

By the score

Feeling Excited

As the sun

Warms their bodies

Easing their aches

Washing away

A long week

Miles of sandy beaches

Push their imaginations

As they dance

With the waves

Play amongst

The underwater dunes

Feeling the undercurrent gently

Prod them during their

Swimming marathons

Some stroll in conversation

Some idly tan

Others toss

Balls

In excitement

While others

Build

Enormous sandcastles

That will be washed away in the ebb

And flow of nature's rhythm

Lasting

Until the sun drops

Romantically

Sending rays of light

Bouncing

Off the waves

 Before dipping

Beyond the horizon
