Hope

Hope

She opened her heart

On a sunny afternoon

Deciding to make

The most of the day

Letting thoughts in

She never considered

Building her trust

In hopes they would stay

So much in life

For us to learn

So much to explore

Along the way

So many things

That make up

Living everyday

The wind whistled

Through her hair

The sun shone

On her knees

So much hope

In one heart

Growing by

Degrees

Who I Love

Who I Love

I have felt the heart

You have kept under lock and key

You are easing

I have seen the smile

That lights up many rooms

You are easing

It is not easy

It is not hard

It’s just who you are

Who I love

Music and candles

Picnics on a Sunday afternoon

Are you free?

Just a word to be said

That lifts up your spirits

Are you free?

It is not easy

It is not hard

It’s just who you are

Who I love

Well Matched

Well Matched

Quiet words were uttered

On full display

Seeking promises

That would still go astray

How they tried

Circling around again

Meaning proposed

Sniffling sounds

Once more arose

Still they tried

And in the end

Both acknowledged

Trying was their right

But piecing together

Moonbeams in the light

Is hard work

They believed there was a way

To patch up their little tiff

Give some take some

And grow up a little bit

He reached for her hand

And held it high in the night

Summoning silent thoughts

Filling her with delight

Well matched they were

Love Is A Strange Bedfellow

Love Is A Strange Bedfellow

In her eyes she smiled

Parting branches as she walked

Full of dizzy dances

Sweetly twirling as she talked

In her eyes the glory of the sun

Birds gathered overhead

Singing heartfelt praises

Bold and soft she did tread

She loved in silent circles

Sheltered from the rain

Keeping all her promises

Protecting her good name

She drew diagrams

Reflecting her inner state

Steepling all her learning

To later contemplate

Everyone who crossed

The fallow path she tread

Drew great love from her

Reflected in what she said

No strong words

Were uttered in her name

And when she disappeared

It never was the same

Cherished moments

Completing all our hearts

Love is strange bedfellows

No matter when it departs

A Meeting

A Meeting

Waiting for a star to fall

Waiting for a late train

Waiting for the rain to stop

And the sun shine once again

She walks up, begins to talk

You feel it begin again

Another moment for you to top

You will never be the same

Words flow in curious sequence

Discussions become quite fun

The train rushes forward

Towards the end of its run

Her exit is here you shed a tear

So glad she spent some time with you

Now on to the next part of your life

You know what you have to do

Running From The Shadows

Running From The Shadows

Darkness rears its ugly head

Pushing at the door

Begging to be let in

Until you can’t stand it any more

It huffs and it puffs and it blows

Shadows all throughout your brain

Creating much confusions

Showing you much disdain

As much as you don’t want it there

You are uncertain what to do

You want to run from the shadows

You want the edges to be soothed

In the end you strengthen

Or you succumb to all the pain

Until it bleeds you dry

You will never be the same

It Wasn’t Enough

It Wasn’t Enough

It wasn’t enough

To follow well worn paths

It wasn’t enough

To remain in my past

It wasn’t enough

To be moving slow

It wasn’t enough

And I wanted more

I met new friends

I heard them sing

I met new friends

Writing was their thing

I met new friends

My wings began to spread

I met new friends

Who lived life instead

Different ideas

Were floating around

Chasing down visions

Making new sounds

Writing more often

With variety too

Writing about life

And the things I new

Always evolving

Looking to grow

Challenge my thoughts

Can’t go slow

Taking me places

I’ve never been

Living a life

I could never dream

I Want You

I Want You

Baby

I said here I am

I said baby

Doing what I can

I am no good to you

If I can’t be your man

Baby

What you do to me

I said baby

What you do to me

I want to be with you

Baby can't you see

Baby

There are things to say

I said baby

There are times to play

Playing games with you is not

Where I want to be

Baby

I am here

I want you so bad

I want everything

That you have

I want you so much

I don’t think I will last

Baby

I have things to say

I said baby

Don’t make me go away

If I can’t have you

I will live my life in misery

Do you want me

I want you

Do you want me

I want you

Life is so much better

When I am with you

Tell Me

Tell Me

Tell me

Is that something new

Won’t you tell me

Is it out of the blue

Speak up now

Don’t be so aloof

Tell me

Why won’t you talk to me

Why can’t you tell me

How did this come to be

Speak up now

Let me hear from you

I’m listening

Can I hear words

Can we talk

I want to learn

I’ll give you strength

To carry on

I’ll be here

For on and on

Come on new

Tell me

What is wrong with you

Come on

Tell me

How I can help you

I want to do

What is best for you
