A Life I Have Lived

A Life I Have Lived

I walk down

Empty streets

Listening for

A heartbeat

Cold winds

Begin to blow

As I walk

Far from home

I’ve lived my life

I’ve live it well

So many to stories

That compel

Take me up

And back again

Loving a life

That remains

Oh a life I have lived

Oh what a life I have been given

Lived my life

In summer breeze

Capturing

All my needs

Warm winds

Boosted me

Filled me up

So I could be

Warm hearts flowed

All around me

Giving love

So I could be

Love is gone

Much too soon

My love could

Fill a room

Oh a life I have lived

Oh what a life I have been given

Thought Police Never Bend

Thought Police Never Bend

It’s interesting to see

Others expectations

Of what life is supposed to be

Each so different

So special so unique

Until the day comes

When they attempt

To impose them on you

The thought police

Never bend

The thought police

Never bend

As long as you are bending

They want to be your friend

Then they wonder why you are strange

For all their attempts to rearrange

How you are

Supposed to

Act and see

Think and feel

So I wonder what is the deal

Why the control

Exists and never ends

Thought police never bend

Sleep Is On My Mind

Sleep Is On My Mind

My brain’s keeping me awake

Too many thoughts I’ve to partake

Making me wonder if it will

Ever just shut itself down

From its attempts to astound

I don’t know what is in store

I know I need to sleep some more

It’s always good to get some rest

Helps me to be at my best

Instead of feeling confound

Think about some minor things

Like why Saturn has all its rings

A question no one is aware

Does it even have a spare

Out there just hanging around

Sleep is on my mind

Too many thoughts in my head

Keeping me awake instead

Alarms go off and I feel so tired

Always stuck in a mire

Get to work it goes bad

I feel I’m being had

Head back home get into bed

I’d rather be here instead

Sleep is on my mind

I fall asleep at odd hours

I am a slave to its powers

Once I took a nap on a train

Somehow I ended up in Spain

No cure for a lack of sleep

Sleep is on my mind

Railroad Blues

Railroad Blues

Baby went joy riding

Down the rail

Baby went joy riding

Down the rail

Now my baby

Can’t make bail

Saw her just the

Other morn

Saw her just the

 Other morn

With new baby

Just been born

It was mine

What she said

It was mine

What she said

I know a line

I’m being fed

She looked at me

Said baby please

She looked at me

Said baby please

Can you put

My mind at ease

She took a train

Late at night

She took a train

Late at night

Watched her go

Out of my sight

Nice and Slow

Nice and Slow

Won’t you love me

Love me all night long

Won’t you love me

Love me all night long

I’ll go nice and slow

You’ll finish nice and strong

Lord I’m thirsty

Thirsty just for you

Lord I’m thirsty

Thirsty just for you

I’ll go nice and slow

Make you happy too

Yes you’re crying

Long into the night

Yes you’re crying

Long into the night

I’ll go nice and slow

You cry with sweet delight

When you’re finished

You will close your eyes

When you’re finished

You will close your eyes

I’ve been nice and slow

Whisper your sweet surprise

Time

Time

Time

A path for you

Time

All you can do

Time

A movement to

Time

Where are you

Try to spend some more time

Keep walking the fine line

Time

For special things

Time

The seasons brings

Time

It makes you sing

Time

Working out kinks

Time’s too short to fool around

Set yourself to something sound

Time

Edge of everything

Time

All that it brings

Time

Loaded on springs

Time

Desperate things

If you took the time to see

Much you would try to be

Time

Then there was none

Time

To have some fun

Time

Try to out run

Time

Under the gun

Time is near yet so far

Faster than a speeding car

Handful of Dust

Handful of Dust

The world is a rather lonely place

Sit looking for some good news

When your name came up

I became fairly amused

Times were distant

Times were passed

Time had moved on from you

Still there was this feeling

That distance had not abused

A handful of dust

Floating on the wind

Heading over there

Coming back again

There were times when

That was all I knew

An handful of dust

Between me and you

Simple thoughts follow simple times

Looking for reason to explain

It was a hard learned fact

That we are all not the same

And in the end I think I knew

I always wonder if I did

My life was so confused

It was by grace of god that I lived

Ideas took us beyond our world

Ideas grand and sure

And brought us to a separate place

Where life is what we endure

There were many happy times

A world where I was alive

Then we both did grow up

It all felt contrived

We walked down separate paths

Sure in all we did

In the end all that was left

Is a world in which we lived

Accidental Paths

Accidental Paths

The doors are always open

This is a place to get warm

A place where you can talk

Safe from any storm

A little interaction

It may be all you need

Come in from the cold

This is the place to be

There are accidental paths

There are roads that are unknown

There are times to take a walk

Times to be on your own

Love is in the air

It may be all you need

Come in from the cold

This is the place to be
