Waiting quietly

Here I am 

Patient as patient can be

Silent in gratitude

No one needs attitude

But I am wondering

Why you are so late

Here I am 

Worried about you

Here I am

Starting to feel blue

Wondering what’s kept you

There isn’t much to do

Keep searching all their eyes

Hoping for a great surprise

Here I am 

Maybe I should call

Here I am

My heart is a flutter

My words do sputter

Thinking that you forgot
