New York City 1967
Tuning her guitar
With intensity
Her face covered
By her hair
Strumming slowly
In full splendour
As if no one
Was really there
Then she looked up
And smiled a shy smile
Thanking those who listened
With such patience
To her noodling
Inspired to
Get it right
Angelic beauty
Rocked our world
Intensity
Personified
Singing songs
With heartfelt depth
Rapture ensued
Until clapping
Was an afterthought
A moment
That was so
Undefined
And defied
Expectations
Letting the songs
Be
Just who she is
