Where Does Life Ever Go?
Time has brought me here again
Wondering where it all began
Searching high and searching low
Where does life ever go?
First you’re young, then you’re old
Once were sad, now you’re bold
You reach out, pull back in
A holy life, a life of sin
Build it up, tear it down
Love in silence, built in sound
Say some words, take them back
Believe in peace, under attack
First in love, first in fame
Some do win and lose again
Build in thought, then negate
Seeking power, seeking rebate
First you crawl, then you run
Built in sadness, built in fun
Minds are hurt, then at ease
Planned out full, then released
Expanding middles, pushing edges
On the ground, standing on ledges
Building up, to let go
Words are said, thoughts unknown
Time has brought me here again
Wondering where it all began
Searching high and searching low
Where does life ever go?
