It’s My Life

Living life day by day

Cornered in by what has been

Situations gone astray

Disheartened by what I have seen

Want to live my life another way

Want a life powered by my need

Society has its strength

Can’t live off what it feeds

Not trying to make a statement

Not sure how to frame it

It’s my life

I want to see more than is known 

Yesterday was a dream

Today is now moving on

Tomorrow will be the past

Memories are not where I belong

I asked around for some answers

I searched far and wide

Everyone saw a different thing

Only what they see inside

What they see is something special

It is what makes their hearts full

It’s my life

I need to be me not just another clone 

Once it was said to me

It is how I look at life

It is so simple just for them

To see life like everyone else

Drinking and working and playing games

Being what they want to be

I sense there is something more

Something special I cannot see

I don’t mean to be insulting

My thoughts are resulting

It’s my life

I have to live it as it’s meant for me
